Creative Use of Media

How do we stop living by default and start living by design?  This sermon began with a clip from the movie “Click” where Adam Sandler’s character gets a remote to control his life, but his life is stuck in fast forward.  Too often we live by default in “fast forward” mode. I examine what it means to live instead by God’s design. I preached beside this Klepper expedition kayak on stage about how we all have a mission.  At the end I reveal that its actually a folding kayak and dump out of a bag all the pieces that make one up.  God wants to put the pieces of our lives back together to get us back on mission. Life only works when assembled by God’s simple instructions to live by design in Christ.

My preaching philosophy:

Media is the heart language of American culture.  I believe in using media as I did here especially when it sets up a heart issue, makes a point more tangible, or drives home an application.  Media takes the message to the audience’s heart by tapping their heart language..
